The virtual Kick off meeting of the H2020 Project DEFEATDevelopment of an innovative insulation fire resistant façade from the Construction and Demolition Waste – took place on the 1st of July 2020.  Frederick Research Center (FRC), as project coordinator, organized the meeting with all the consortium partners participating and discussing all the aspects for the successful implementation of the DEFEAT project. The 10 Partners will work closely for 36 months for the successful implementation and delivery of the project.

The general objective of the DEFEAT project, is the innovative separation and transformation of Construction and Demolition Wastes (CDW) into an innovative insulation fire resistant facade. The DEFEAT project will develop in pilot scale an innovative separation method of CDW, as well as a composite material generated also from the CDW, which will gain low thermal conductivity, satisfactory mechanical properties, and at the same time will be fire resistant. The DEFEAT “CDW façade” will be applicable not only for Cypriot applications but for worldwide applications as well.

DEFEAT, with project number INTEGRATED/0918/0052, relies on pillar I. Smart Growth and it is funded from the Research Promotion Foundation (Research Innovation Foundation) Programs For Research, Technological Development And Innovation “RESTART 2016 – 2020”.

STRATAGEM is proud to work with all DEFEAT Partners (Frederick Research Center, University of Cyprus, Latomia Pharmakas PLC, S.NETIATES & H.XENIS EPIXEIRISEIS LTD, RECS Civil Engineers & Partners LLC, Federation of the Building Contractors Associations of Cyprus, Public Works Department, Ministry of Agriculture – Department of Environment, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven) proposing our solutions towards a sustainable CDW management.  STRATAGEM will also contribute to the project by offering its expertise on the Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation activities to facilitate the realization of the project and maximize the impact.  Finally STRATAGEM will contribute with its knowledge and expertise to the LCA activities, Innovation Management and Business planning of the DEFEAT project.
