We are excited to announce that on the 2nd day of February 2021, our new project, Photo_COVID, has been officially launched and the relevant kick off meeting took place digitally on the 8th of February 2021.
The Photo_COVID project is funded under the Research and Innovation Foundation Programmes for Research, Technological Development and Innovation “RESTART 2016 – 2020 (SEED COVID/0420/0031).
The main partners of the project are YS Cypriot Catalysts Ltd and Stratagem. Stratagem, is responsible for the Innovation Management leading the Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation tasks.
About the project:
The main objective of Photo_COVID is the limitation of the Covid-19 outbreak by developing an innovative, multifunctional photocatalytic coating that will be applied on various surfaces such as indoor walls and ceilings. This coating is going to be harmful to the virus and its aim is to limit its lifespan on these surfaces up to 1 hour.
The project’s national and international impact is going to be multidimensional as it is going to affect positively both socioeconomic and technological factors, will using environmental friendly technologies. The project will contribute in the fact that Europe and the whole world strive to limit the outbreaks of the virus as well as the negative relevant socioeconomic impacts, from the enormous and unfamiliar Pandemic due to Covid-19, which they are facing since early 2020.
The activities of the project will last for the next 9 months and it is expected to be completed in October 2021.
